Migraines: Usually nsaids and rest. Triptans are a special type of medicine that work to stop a migraine or tension headache, but not prevent one from happening. There are other medications that you take every day to prevent migraines - be sure to talk with your primary care doctor as migraines can be very well controlled with the right regimen. Best of luck.
