Bite: Wasp bites like bee stings fall under the class of Hymenoptera. The sting burns, but can cause tissue irritation and sometimes get infected. Initial therapy would include topical antibiotic, aloe vera and try some Ibuprofen. A warm moist compress may help too. If redness worsens and fever be seen.

Look for infection: Most Wasp/Bee stings do not require medical attention unless the patient exhibits an allergic reaction (extreme swelling, difficulty breathing). Look out for infection (redness spreading from the central bite location outward). Otherwise, apply ice to the bite area for 5-10 minutes, give an antihistamine (benadryl or claritin), and tylenol for pain. Topical benadryl/hydocortisone also helps.
