I run for 45 mins outdoors near cars and sprint part of the way so get very out of breath. the fumes were very heavy. should i stop running and walk instead? could this one exposure cause lung cancer? also been running for couple months 3x a week.

Track: Continue to exercise, but if you can locate a less congested area to run, or request permission to use a track at a local school when not in use, that would be preferable. The exposure to fumes may irritate the airway, and wearing a loose scarf covering the nose and mouth may be used. Regarding cancer risk, it is less clear.
