I am a health worker, registered nurse.. i just find out his results were positive and i am still waiting for mine.. how long do they take and what can i do in the meantime ?

Self quarantine: Let employer and GP know that you have been exposed and waiting for test results. Place yourself in quarantine, test should take anywhere in between 24-72 h. If your significant other got tested, it should be in same time range. Follow recommendations from your GP.

Positive results?: I am assuming you mean a COVID result. Typical turn around time about a day for test. Typical time to quarantine about two weeks.
