Speak to doctor: There should be no reason not to take the medication if you can swallow pills as per your doctor. The medication is an antidepressant that can also be used for nerve type pain. It is not a blood thinner.

If you can swallow..: You could certainly take Cymbalta (duloxetine) as long as you can take fluids and soft foods. Cymbalta (duloxetine) is a capsule. It is possible to empty it into a small amount of applesauce, if you can take that. Btw, Cymbalta (duloxetine) is an antidepressant, and I am not aware of any blood-thinning property! good luck.
