A member asked:

10 yr old boy has mpv of 10.2 when normal is 6-9.5 and lymphocytes of 3.7 when normal is up to 3.5 otherwise healthy and active. what can this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually nothing: MPV just means the mean platelet volume (size). The cited number is just outside of the upper limit listed by that lab. Other labs would consider it within their expected range of normal. In the absence of other abnormalities I would not consider this of any significance.
