Dr prescribed me doxycycline 100 mg/day for 3 months for scalp foliculitis. after 20 days i have no more scalp foliculitis. i am concerned about this long term usage of antibiotic. can i stop or start taking it every other day instead?

Maybe, maybe not: This dose of doxycycline is unlikely to be harmful, even for 3 months. But if the problem has cleared up, perhaps prolonged treatment won't be necessary. Ask the doctor or clinic where it was prescribed.
