A member asked:

Had a nerve in thigh that was compressed for several months. a week ago i was able to relieve a large amount of pressure. i have felt a reduction in pain and burning but i get a sensation of warm water running over the numb area. is this normal?

Interpretation: Assume your nerve was compressed at superior iliac spine, causing meralgia paresthetica, which has improved regarding pain. The numbness persists, but you may be experiencing some improved sensation (warm water). Give it about 4-6 weeks and see if this results in restoration of your prior thigh sensation. Discuss all of this with a local neurologist.
