Some thoughts: Stopping the pill should not be a problem as your body should return to your baseline level of fertility (or not) within a month or two.A pre-conception meeting with your doc or OBGYN may be helpful to you when you have any questions. These might include a family history of birth defects on either side, or things you worry about in general. The cited average wait until a desired pregnancy is 6 mo.
