I was on yas contraceptive for over 10 years, my mother was diagnosed with cancer at an early age - since visiting my new network doctor she's insisted i get off the pill and find an alternative such as injection, i need a 2nd opinion please.

Need in person visit: The appropriate contraceptive choice for anyone is based on many factors. Past & current history, family history (clotting disorders) , duration of need, family plans, exam, etc. . An IUD may also fit your need. I would arrange to visit a different doctor, preferably not directly involved with this one to review your options.
