Hi! a while ago i had an accident on my foot and lost my toenail (on my big toe), a few weeks later i lost my other toenail on my big foot, from a different accident. about a year later one grew back, but its been nearly 2 years and the other hasn't.

It happens: Whether or not your nail re-grows depends on the health of the nail bed.This is the first few millimetres underlying a nail where it emerges on the toe. If the injury was traumatic enough to scar the nail bed it may not generate a new one. You can consult a dermatologist to see if they have any suggestions on ways to re-vitalize it, but this is likely permanent.
