Gap ? : Your description is vague. The skull is formed by various plates/parts that have growth centers called sutures that form lines between the parts. Occasionally you can feel a step off or ridge between the parts. The skull grows rapidly in infants & these parts grow by pushing away at the margins. Most lines are not very obvious after a year but the don't actually fuse until adulthood.
