I got a cartilidge ear piercing in the very beginnig of august. when i take the earing out now it will start to close up in a few hours. why is this?

Slow to heal.: There is virtually no blood supply in the cartilage areas of the ear. Piercings there are very slow to close (months), and tend to close if an earring or stud is not left in to keep it open. If it is oozing any discharge or the ear is red and tender, see your doctor.
