Synovial cyst: Hello. The symptoms you mention are concerning for a synovial cyst. These are usually formed after a trauma. Between bone and bone there are these sort of bags with a thick fluid to avoid corrosion because of the bone to bone contact. When these synovial "bags" break, they may release their content to the surrounding areas, causing the cysts. You need to visit an orthopedist.

Ganglion cyst?: It is common for cysts to swell up and shrink down intermittently as they do fill up with fluid sometimes, especially when certain activities cause irritation to the area. Then they can be more painful as they might be pushing on a nerve.I would recommend you consult with your doctor,in person if they are available or via telemedicine to start.Ibuprofen may help and for now avoid painful activities
