May need blood count: I would assume the Dr you saw before did a blood count at that time? If so it can be helpful to get another one now to compare. If blood count dropping may be worth reconsidering treatment for your problem. But though blood from anus/rectum is scary, the amount is often smaller than you think & blood count may be stable. Keeping stools soft can help (fluids, fiber, stool softeners)
