Takes time: As with any long acting anti-inflammatory medication, it will take time to take full effect.

Meloxicam : It may take up to 3 to 4 doses to get to an adequate serum level. Certainly don't give up on one dose. The blood levels of the drug rise in the first few consecutive doses and drop as you withhold the drug. It also takes time to reduce the inflammation that is present.
