A member asked:

13 wks preg. rubella serology: igg - serum =** positive, igg value=81.90 iu/ml, igm - serum=low positive, igg avidity=91.82 %. is it primary/reinfection? will amniocentesis @ 14 wks detect accurately if baby is ok? should i keep pregnancy/terminate

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most likely: not a secondary infection. It is Rare to have secondary with rubella. So talk to your doctor about best plan, as negative fetal effects of rubella in pregnancy, need to be considered. Discussion about amniocentesis/keeping or terminating, need to be with your doctor.
