Good day, i am currently breastfeeding twins exclusively. since this morning at around 3am, i have had a sharp pain in my right breast while feeding. after the baby finished drinking i emptied out the breast with my electeic pump. the pain remains.

Mastitis: You may have an infection in the milk ducts of your breast. These can often be relieved by what you are doing already which is to allow the babies to breast feed and pumping out the remainder. However, if it is getting worse already and not better then you need antibiotics and should see a doctor right away. It wont harm the baby to feed off the infected breast.
