A member asked:

What is the right amount of acetaminophen/tylenol to take if you think you have a coronavirus infection? should you take a higher dose than usual?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The dosage recommendations on acetaminophen are based on the risk benefit of the drug. Higher doses can overwhelm the liver's ability to process the drug before cellular damage (to the liver) will occur. Any use of higher than normal doses places one at risk of such liver damage. Either it helps or not at the recommended dose no matter what the disease.
