Outer ear infection: It seems like you are describing an infection known as otitis externa (outer ear infection). While tylenol (acetaminophen) and advil can help with pain, they won't resolve the infection any faster. You would need to see a doctor for a prescription to help resolve the infection and help you to get better faster. The first line treatment for otitis externa would be topical antibiotic ear drops.
