A member asked:

I have a burning in middle of my chest (like a menthol feeling). no pain or trouble breathing. under stress lately. is this type of burning feeling a sign of acid reflux? what other signs do i look out for and how do i treat it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chest discomfort: This is a nonspecific symptom which could be from tension or esophageal disorders. Lung or heart problems would have associated cough, shortness of breath or be precipitated or aggravated by exertion. Reflux usually causes heartburn or sour eructations. You may benefit from stress management therapy. See your MD for better evaluation of this symptom persists.
