A member asked:

Can switching baby formula, within the 1st month, cause gastrointestinal problems and chest/nasal congestion?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe/not: Infants may handle different formulas with more or less symptoms. They also often struggle to poop or move food through since their belly muscles are weak/flabby & the must use their fussing/breathing muscles to assist.Congestion in infants is rarely from feeds. It comes from narrow nostrils reacting to dust/fumes in their environment. Nasal saline washout helps.
