See a specialist: Having failed to improve with typical OTC meds, it is time to consult your doc or a GI specialist. Esophagitis May indicate a large hernia allowing this reflux, ulcer, dysmotility, or gastric migration above the diaphragm. Specific testing will demonstrate the correct diagnosis and allow a successful treatment program. Good luck.

Time to see doc: Best would be to see your GP in order to have a plan going forward. Losing weight if overweight, avoiding eating at late hours and keeping a food log with symptoms may help in the long run.
