Examination: First thing I would like you to do is see your Doctor/provider for an examination which include the throat and neck among other items. Problems might inclue a throat infection, acid reflux and many other issues, none of it could be ignored. So, at this time an examination is important, take care.

It could be reflux: It could be reflux or even simple indigestion but it's hard to say for sure without proper evaluation.Make appointment with your PCP, in the mean time try OTC Zantac (ranitidine).

Rule out red flags: "Trouble swallowing" is a symptom that falls somewhere on a continuum. If you can't manage your own saliva, go to the ER *now* If your problems are w/ liquids more than solids, or V/V you need to be scoped & get a swallowing study within the week. Bottom line, the neck is really complicated anatomically & the first concern is always airway protection. If OK then r/o GERD, allergic PND, or mass.
