Never ?: It is important that any newborn have their first poop, usually within the 1st 24 hrs as this proves the system is connected & open. After that first poop much depends on the method of feeds. Breast fed infants can poop a smear every feed or a cradle filler once a week. No 1st poop=doc needs to evaluate immediately.
