I changed the formula on my 3month old from enfamil infant to enfamil a.r he passes stools 5 times a day now: yellow thicker w/ mucus is that normal?

Yes: The difference between the two formulas is that the ar contains a rice starch to "thicken" the formula a bit so that the baby doesn't spit up as much. This can increase fiber content in the stool, making the stools a bit thicker. 5 poops a day for a 3 month old is totally normal. Babies poop a lot!
