Broken, needs X-ray: Given the mechanism of injury and the fact that the toe is bent and painful, it is likely a fracture. You need xrays and for a dr to straighten the bones and check the nerves and circulation. Call your regular dr and see if they can do this in their office. If not try an urgent care. No need to go to the ED. If the bone is not straightened, it could lead to deformities which could affect walking
