Dose is reasonable: If you have no medical problems that conflict with this medication, e.g., heart disease, stomach bleeding, ulceration, or perforation, this is a reasonable dose. This is a tapering dose so I assume you have an acute problem/inflammatory condition. The standard dose of this drug is up to 800 mgm 4 times a day. You are well within this dosage, but watch out for stomach irritation.

Likely okay: Just to clarify, your doctor is having you take tablets that are each 200 mg, correct - where three together amount to a 600 mg dose? If so, then that dose may be reasonable. If the dose is 3 x 600 mg tablets (for a dose of 1,800 mg), then most likely not. In that case, please write back and clarify, also let us know what’s being treated.
