Wound care: Stretch marks are areas where the skin has stretched and thinned. It is common that these areas can split the skin. Wash the area well and disinfect with hydrogen peroxide or iodine solution, dry the area and apply antibiotic ointment, then apply a clean bandage. Keep the area clean and dry, reapplying the ointment and new bandage daily until it heals. Avoid scrubbing or pulling at this skin.
