I took some childrens benadryl this morning before checking the expiration date and seeing that it expired in january of 2019. today is april 7, 2020. will i be okay and what should i expect to happen?

No worries: Most meds last well longer than their expiration date, in some cases - years. As time passes, the medicine simply loses potency. The worst that would happen is that you wouldn't get the expected benefit of the Benadryl.
