See doctor: Many things can cause a skin rash but the more common ones are viral infection and drug reaction . Benadryl (diphenhydramine) only benefits hives caused by histamine but not other rashes . If you have no other symptoms, you may wait a week and see if it disappears. If the problem persists beyond that or you start to develop other symptoms , see your doctor.
