So far in my state, 1,159 pos covid cases & 42 deaths (12 in my county). my dr thinks 100k people in our city (pop 400k) probably have it. how can he be so sure of that? scares me to the point that i don't even want to go outside in my own yard.

Prediction: That is based on a extrapolation of positive tests versus total number of tests run and it still may not be accurate. You might be scared of the fact that you might get it, but you can also be 1 of the 100000 that had it. Would not over stress over it. The big numbers definitely create social anxiety if not clearly explained.
