Fresh ???: The cord base should be dry & healed by 9 weeks. Sometimes a nubbin of sore like tissue that needs to be cauterized with silver nitrate before it heals. If it seems to leak fluid there are other possibilities that the doc will need to explore. Please schedule a visit so this can be sorted out.
