A member asked:

Is it normal for your white blood cell count to be slightly elevated during pregnancy? im in my third trimester. thanks! wbc count elevated

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: Pregnancy is associated with increased white blood cell count. It may plateau in the third trimester and may range from 9000 to 15000 cells/microL. However, in the absence of labor, counts greater than 20,000 cells/microL should have hematologic evaluation. Note: During labor counts may go as high as 29.000 cells/microL.
