A member asked:

Am type 2 diabetic. current medication: metformin1000 (twice /day). also exforge 10 mg and aspavor 20mg. have recurrent sore throat incidents. any advice?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can examine: Throat pain can be from strep throat infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees a doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (mainly to see about antibiotics). A person in his 60's with recurrent or persistent symptoms needs a good exam.
