If one has traveled: to affected regions, or been around infected individuals, and now has symptoms, yes, testing seems appropriate. Wearing a mask to protect others would be considerate. Call your doctor or local health dept, to find out how to be tested.

Corona: Your symptom wasn't characteristic of a corona viral infection. However, if you were in an endemic area or exposed to people who were ill with the virus, you could be a carrier and in that circumstance I feel you should be tested.
