Doctor can examine: A long discussion with one's primary care doctor is needed, because there are several possible causes for leg edema (some are serious, some are not). To say, "retaining fluid in my legs" reveals a medical condition, but the root cause can be heart, kidney, hormonal, positional, etc... An in-person evaluation and talk with one's doctor is needed.
