Asthma ages: It is difficult to diagnose children under 6 years old with asthma. Tipical colds last 7 days with cough disappearing after 3 weeks. There are many things that can cause long periods of runny nose and cough, like two back to back colds that seem like just one long one or allergies. If sx have been lasting longer than usual it is best for the child to be seen again.

Albuterol: Please see your pediatrician. She may need Albuterol in an inhaled form with a spacer device. Continue aspelone as directed. Nasal congestion may be improved with nasal saline drops. Monitor temperature, provide fluids and watch for signs of distress. She may have pneumonia or bronchitis and an evaluation is suggested.
