A member asked:

Why do i need to keep getting a prescription from a doctor every six months for birth control? i'm using it for my skin.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Good medical care: We doctors taking care of patients want to truly take care of our patients. Seeing a person two times each year is a good way of monitoring their progress, whether their condition be acne, low thyroid hormone, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc... These days, for reliable long-term patients, doctors have options such as seeing a patient in-person once a year, and on video for the 6 month recheck.
