Is it possible for you to authorize a refill on my birth control prescription? i have left a message for my primary doctor to please call the pharmacy and authorize a single refill until i have my appointment later this month, but no response

It depends.: In general a patient can not authorize their own refill. However, if you live in Oregon or California you can actually buy birth control over the counter starting in January (Oregon) and March (California) of 2016.

Birth control is not over the counter yet. Oregon and California pharmacists can prescribe some birth control methods for you.
