A member asked:

Baby fundal height was 38 at 38 weeks than measured 37.5 at 39 weeks? could it be because it was 2 different doctors measuring me causing different measurements? or can baby fundal height go down? baby is head down.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

As the pregnancy: progresses, in the later weeks, softening of the lower uterine segment, allows the head to move down in the pelvis. This is called engagement. As this occurs the fundal height drops in the last few weeks, as you have seen for yourself.
