Largely No: Diabetes mellitus, though involving many interacting issues, is ↑ed blood sugar. Thus intake of any/all sugar (carbohydrates, starch ; fruits) ↑es blood sugar elevations, compounding the problem/disease. This is true for both ↓ ed internal insulin+amylin production (type 1) or ↓ed response to insulin+amylin (type 2) despite all marketing claims (supposedly healthy carbs) to the contrary. Go hf/lc.
