COVID-19 symptoms: The main symptoms are the same as those of a cold or influenza: sore throat, nasal congestion, sneezing, cough, and fever. Headache is common as well, and some patients have had diarrhea. Until and unless there is a known outbreak in your immediate area, any such symptoms are more likely to be due to a cold or flu than COVID-19.

COVID - fever, cough: Throat pain can be from a strep throat infection (antibiotics needed), a cold or influenza, or another cause such as allergies, COVID-19, irritants, or acid reflux. Usually, a person sees his doctor (call first) if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly. COVID-19 infections tend to have cough and fever. Strep throat usually lacks cough but has more throat pain.
