Doctor can evaluate: Insomnia has many causes, so an evaluation by a primary care doctor is needed. Getting rid of a problem causing insomnia will usually work, but sometimes no cause is found. Doctors may give medications to help fall asleep and stay asleep. Depression, anxiety, hormonal imbalances, pain, medicines, ambient noise, tinnitus, jet lag, etc... all can cause insomnia. Sleep Medicine doctors can also help.

Routine needed: cool, dark,quite comfy place, keep same wake time every d, develop and do the same 30min process to give body clear msg time to relax and fall asleep, epsom salt baths, lavendar essential oil can help. Avoid bright lights as supresses melatonin. Add 4-500mg magnesium gluconate or citrate, if not sufficient try adding melatonin 1-20mg-if still not helpful PCP eval indicated
