Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) insomnia: This is a particularly pesky problem that is often accompanied with daytime tiredness that can be inordinate - even more than expected with the diminishment in sleep. Very little can be be done short of reducing the dose, and bringing out the big guns for sleep - which can be problematic in themselves. A switch to venlafaxine may be helpful as it has a shorter half-life.

INSOMNIA: There are excellent medications for insomnia. A Psychiatrist can guide you to the best one. Insomnia might be due to several different reasons. First have a complete physical exam by a Dr. to rule out underlying biological problem. If no problem consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy help & possible referral to a sleep study.
