Does taking an antidepressant increase the magnesium level in your brain?

Ssri's: Most of our modern antidepressants are in the SSRI category and increase the extracellular level of the neurotransmitter, serotonin. Some also increase norepinephrine levels. I'm unaware of their effect on magnesium levels, but there is evidence that magnesium supplements have some antidepressant properties and allow lower doses of SSRI's to be given.
