In general, no: In general, antidepressants are very safe and have not been shown to cause any damage to the brain.

Likely safe, BUT: Not fully clear as to whether modern SSRI's or SSNRI's could have permanent bad effects. But there is some emerging evidence that drugs with strong anticholinergic effects, could deplete brain cholinergic functions and promote dementia. And although uncommon, risperdal has caused tardive dyskinesias. Gather you could talk about this with your doctor.
