The only known way to raise serotonin production/levels is exercise. Antidepressants cause a reduction in serotonin breakdown so that serotonin hangs around longer in the body but this treatment does not cause a increase in serotonin production. There is no evidence that white Chestnut (aesculus hippocastanum) has any effect on serotonin. I speculate that adding supervised exercise might help.
