A member asked:

How much iron should i take against anemia? female, 35years, 1,76 tall, 68 kg

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: The recommended dose for anemia in adults is 60-100 mg/kg of elemental iron twice daily doses. The usual over the counter forms can have 12-33% of elemental iron. A common form is Ferrous sulfate in 300 mg tablets that contain 60 mg of elemental iron. When used as a supplement to avoid anemia a single tablet daily may suffice & is often recommended for menstruating women.
