Deep Heat: Deep Heat rubbing gel is used to treat muscle soreness. It acts like a counterirritant that produces a penetrating heat sensation by increasing blood supply. Perhaps you rubbed in the gel vigorously or used too much. If your skin developed deep and spreading redness or a rash, it's wise not to use it again.
